What to expect from your first consultation

Taking the first step toward improving your health can feel overwhelming, but I'm here to make the process simple and supportive. In this post, I'll walk you through what you can expect from your initial consultation with me, and how we'll work together to create a plan tailored to your unique needs.

Whether you're focused on fertility, managing PCOS, or improving your overall nutrition, my consultations are designed to dig deep into the details and provide a personalised approach. Here's everything you need to know!

Specialty Areas I Support:

I specialise in a range of women's health concerns, and your first consultation will be shaped around your specific needs. Here are some areas we often focus on:

Fertility & Pre-Conception

If you're preparing for pregnancy, undergoing IVF, or considering egg freezing, I provide guidance to support egg quality, ovulation, and overall reproductive health.

Pregnancy

Managing the side effects of pregnancy can be challenging. Whether you're dealing with nausea, gestational diabetes (GDM), or pre-eclampsia, I can help you navigate your nutrition during this special time.

Postpartum & Breastfeeding

Meeting your nutritional needs after giving birth is crucial for recovery and breastfeeding. I provide targeted support to help you heal and produce nourishing breast milk for your baby.

PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome)

PCOS can affect insulin resistance, weight, and other symptoms. Together, we'll focus on a nutrition plan to help manage these areas effectively.

Endometriosis/Adenomyosis

If you’re struggling with pain and inflammation from endometriosis or adenomyosis, I’ll work with you on anti-inflammatory nutrition strategies to alleviate symptoms.

Menopause

Menopause can come with its own set of challenges, including weight gain and changes in energy levels. I provide nutritional strategies to support you through this transition.

HA (Hypothalamic Amenorrhea)

I can help guide you toward restoring your cycle through balanced, supportive nutrition.

Gut Health

Struggling with IBS, bloating, or irregular bowels? Together, we'll address gut health issues and work on improving digestion through tailored dietary approaches.

Performance Nutrition

For active individuals, fueling your workouts and optimizing recovery is essential. We'll build a nutrition plan that enhances your performance and helps you reach your fitness goals.

How to Book

Ready to get started? You can easily book your first consultation here. From there, just select the service that aligns with your goals, and we’ll begin your journey!

Before Your Consultation

Once you’ve booked your session, you’ll receive a pre-consultation questionnaire. This helps me get to know you better before we meet, allowing us to make the most of our time together. By filling this out, I’ll have a clear understanding of your health history and goals so that we can focus on creating a plan tailored to your needs.

Your First Consultation

Your initial consultation will be 75 minutes long—a bit longer than a standard dietitian session. This extra time allows us to dive deep into all aspects of your health, as women's health can often be more complex.

Here's what we’ll cover:

Your Goals

We'll start by discussing your health and nutrition goals. Whether it’s improving fertility, managing a condition, or enhancing your overall well-being, I want to know exactly what you hope to achieve.

Lifestyle Review

We’ll take a look at your current lifestyle habits, including sleep patterns, stress levels, exercise routines, and daily activities. These areas can significantly impact your nutrition and health.

Medical History

Understanding your medical background is key to providing personalised support. We’ll review any existing conditions, medications, and supplements you’re taking.

Biochemistry

If you’ve had any recent blood work done, we’ll go over the results to identify any nutrient deficiencies or areas of concern.

Diet History & Eating Patterns

What have you tried in the past? What does your current diet look like? We’ll explore your eating patterns, focusing on what works for you and what may need adjusting.

This consultation is a completely judgment-free zone—I’m here to support you, not to criticise you. Our conversation will help me build a comprehensive understanding of your health, so we can move forward in the best way possible.

Goal Setting

After we’ve covered the essentials, we’ll move on to goal setting. Together, we’ll identify any challenges you might face in achieving your nutrition goals and create a personalised game plan to overcome them. This step is all about tailoring strategies that fit seamlessly into your lifestyle.

Your Personalised Plan

Following your consultation, I’ll develop a personalised plan just for you. Depending on your needs, this could include:

  • A flexible meal plan designed around your goals

  • A supplement plan if necessary

  • Resources and guides to help you stay on track

  • Specific advice on implementing key nutrition strategies

You’ll leave with a clear plan of action that fits your lifestyle and supports your health goals.

Ongoing Support

Change doesn’t happen overnight, and that's where review consultations come in. We’ll continue to meet based on your needs, tracking your progress and making adjustments as necessary. Whether you need regular check-ins or prefer a more flexible schedule, I’m here to support you at every step.

Plus, between consultations, you can always reach out via email with any questions or concerns. If you're receiving long-term support, we can also set up structured check-ins to keep you on track.
